Steps to Recalling the Good

I drove through a galaxy
and though some part of me knew it was snow
there was something comforting
about pretending there were stars collapsing
onto my windshield. I turned the corner
befriended by the streetlights
and finally let loose
by the delicate crunch
of solar systems under my tires

Julie is a student at DePauw University in Indiana where she studies English Writing and Studio Art with a concentration in Painting. Currently she is studying in Aberdeen, Scotland where she continues to write and attempts to teach herself to cook.
