Frostwriting

Guidelines

Frostwriting publishes outstanding writing and translations in English from anywhere on the planet. We accept previously unpublished short fiction, flash fiction, poetry and creative non–fiction. Translators should provide proof of consent by the original writer or his estate; alternatively translations of poems and prose in the public domain will be considered.

Subject matter

Although cross-cultural experiences are of special interest to us, we have no limitation on subject matter. We are not receptive to writing that demeans the human spirit: no portrayals of gratuitous violence, no racial, religious or gender slurs.  Sorry, but we do not publish genre or travel writing, or writing for children.

Categories

For our “On writing” category, we look for short, entertaining pieces about some aspect of the art of writing. Our “Postcards” category is for short prose or poetry with a strong feeling of geographical or emotional place.

Submissions

Please submit no more than five poems, one piece of flash fiction or one longer prose text not exceeding 2000 words. Include the title of you piece as well as the category: Poetry, Flash, etc. You may also send a brief bio of up to 100 words. Simultaneous submissions are fine, but if your work is accepted elsewhere, please let us know at once. Currently, we cannot pay for publication. Our usual response time is 30 days or less.

NB

We do not respond to submissions sent by email. Please submit through our submission engine. If you encounter problems, you can contact us at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
